REFURBISHMENT OF VICTORIAN VILLA TO OFFICES
ASSIX completed works to renovate the interior and exterior of this detached Victorian villa on Northumberland Road, which provides new office space for the University of Sheffield.
ASSIX were appointed on an open-book basis during the early stages of project design to help streamline the project duration and achieve the earliest handover date. ASSIX worked with the client team to develop an agreed cost plan with procurement in stages as the scope was finalised. This also included ongoing investigations into the building’s condition and dealing quickly with issues such as failing floor joists, walls, and ceilings by highlighting issues to the client team and acting quickly to progress remedial works. Our specialist sub-contractors completed the detailed mechanical, electrical & plumbing designs.
Assix are pleased to have successfully carried out this fast-track project for the University of Sheffield with a constantly changing scope of works showing our flexible and proactive approach. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the University and their project management teams.
In summary, the works included the following:
Internal demolition and strip out.
Carpentry works to repair roofs, floors & partition wall timbers as identified during the works.
Drylining and plastering works to walls & ceilings.
Fire protection works to steelworks.
Various structural repairs such as helibar and RSJ install.
Screeding & DPM.
Window Repairs.
Mechanical & Electrical Works to upgrade to current standards for office accommodation.
New kitchenettes.
New WC’s & IPS.
Decoration Works Throughout.
Soft Flooring Works Throughout.
New Fire Door Installations.
Second fix joinery works with decorative skirtings, architraves etc.
Window Blinds & Window Film.
Ceramic Tiling.

Assix were appointed as Principal Contractor following a competitive tender process to construct a new locker building for Derbyshire Police within the grounds of Ripley Police Station.
Assix were appointed as Principal Contractor to complete a large re-roofing project for the University of Sheffield at the Hadfield CBE Building. The complex works involved detailed phasing to maintain critical plant services within the building while facilitating the works.
Assix were appointed as Principal Contractor following a competitive tender process to carry out re-roofing to the Broad Lane Block housing the University’s Civil and Structural Engineering Department. The works were carried out above and within live teaching environments which required meticulously planned operations to complete the works safely and with minimal disruption. £600,000 project completed over 16 weeks.
Assix provided a full Construction Management service on this £325k car park extension & reconfiguration project for Univar & Ventgrove. The works in Bradford comprised extensive surface water drainage alongside new surfacing and electric vehicle charging point provision.
Assix completed Pre-Construction & Enabling Works Management Role for this £10m New Build Residential Project. Including development of project cost plan, programme & management of demolition and site remediation works.
Assix carefully delivered this office refurbishment project for an international chemical distributer in Wilmslow, Manchester.
